Privacy Policy
Know Your Talent is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data
Know Your Talent (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit our website or use our offline career guidance services (such as DMIT assessments, IQ/aptitude tests, counseling sessions, and parent-child programs). We follow Indian data protection laws and principles (such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) in our practices.
Information We Collect
Online Forms
When you submit inquiry or franchise-interest forms on our website, we collect the information you provide, including your full name, email address, contact number, and mailing address. We also collect basic demographic and academic details such as your age or date of birth, location (city/state), educational background, and stated career preferences or fields of interest. This information helps us respond to your inquiries and tailor our services to your needs.
Offline Services
In our offline assessments and programs, we collect complementary information to deliver our services effectively. For example:
- DMIT Assessments: We capture biometric data for intelligence mapping and generate a multiple-intelligence profile. The raw data and analysis results are stored securely and accessed only by licensed professionals as part of the DMIT process.
- IQ/Aptitude Tests: We record test scores and results from any standardized assessments you take.
- Counseling Sessions: Counselors may keep notes or summaries of career guidance discussions. These records are used only to track your progress and personalize advice.
- Parent-Child Programs: We may collect information about participating parents or guardians (names, relationships) and observations from program activities.
- Educational Records: If you provide any transcripts, report cards, or certificates, we store these to inform our guidance.
All the data we collect—whether online or offline—is used solely to provide and improve our services.
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal and assessment data for legitimate business purposes, including:
- Service Delivery: To conduct career assessments, generate reports, and deliver counseling or program content tailored to your profile.
- Communication: To contact you regarding our services, schedule appointments, or respond to your requests and questions.
- Personalization: To analyze your results and preferences and offer customized guidance or recommendations.
- Operations: To administer our system (e.g., maintaining client records), process payments, and manage franchise or partnership applications.
- Marketing (with consent): We may send you newsletters or promotional materials if you have agreed to receive them; you can opt out anytime.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with laws (for example, record retention rules) and to enforce our legal rights.
We minimize data use and retention: we only use the information essential for these purposes and retain it no longer than necessary.
Data Security and Retention
We store your information on secure servers and use technical safeguards to protect it. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Strong access controls (password protection, role-based access)
- Firewalls and routine security audits
Only authorized Know Your Talent staff or certified partners can access personal or assessment data, and then only as needed to perform their duties (for example, counselors accessing session notes or analysts accessing test data).
While we strive to protect your information, no security system is perfect. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will follow the procedures required by law to notify affected individuals and authorities.
We retain personal data only for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes above or as required by law. When information is no longer required, we securely dispose of it.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
We share your information only in the following limited situations:
- Trusted Service Providers: We engage third-party companies to perform services on our behalf (such as website hosting, data storage, payment processing, or analysis tools). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may use personal data only to perform their contracted services.
- Affiliates and Franchisees: If you are a franchise inquiry or participant, we may share necessary information with our affiliated offices or franchise partners to facilitate services. These affiliates operate under our control or under contract with us and must protect your privacy.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal data if required by law or regulation (for example, to respond to a court order or government request), or if we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud, enforce our terms, or protect someone’s safety.
All parties that receive personal data from us are required to maintain its confidentiality and comply with applicable data protection laws. They may not use your information for any purpose beyond providing the agreed-upon services.
Your Rights and Choices
You have certain rights under Indian data protection law (DPDP Act) with respect to your personal data:
- Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: If you believe any information is inaccurate or incomplete, you may ask us to update or correct it.
- Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal data when it is no longer needed (subject to any legal obligations requiring us to retain records).
- Consent Withdrawal: Where processing is based on your consent (e.g., for marketing communications), you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- Grievance: You may lodge a complaint if you think we have violated your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us (see below). We will verify your identity before acting on a request, to protect your data. We will respond to requests in a timely manner, as required by law.
Compliance with Data Protection Laws
Know Your Talent adheres to the core principles of data protection established by Indian law. These include obtaining your consent for data collection, being transparent about how we use data, limiting data collection to what is necessary (data minimization), ensuring data accuracy, securely storing data, and holding ourselves accountable.
Specifically, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires data fiduciaries like us to process personal data lawfully and maintain its security. We incorporate these principles in all our processes.
We also recognize that privacy is a fundamental right in India (as affirmed by the Supreme Court) and design our practices accordingly. We comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 (including applicable rules) and other sector regulations. Our policies are regularly reviewed to ensure ongoing compliance with all legal requirements.
